Wipro Technologies, the technology services arm of Bangalore-basedWipro Ltd today announced the launch of India Gateway, an internship program aimed for engineering graduates from British universities.
The internship will begin in July 2012 and the first batch of 20 students is expected to arrive in India during the second week of September, Wipro said in a statement on Thursday.
The one-year training program will involve a three-month rigorous technology induction course followed by a six month on-the-job training with Wipro teams. In the last three months, students will work on live project that the outsourcing firm is executing.
The program is aimed at recent engineering graduates or students who are in the final year of their engineering degrees. Candidates will be tested for problem solving capabilities and business communication skills. Wipro's Talent Acquisition team will interview shortlisted candidates before inviting twenty top performers to join the program, the company said in a release.
